Christmas may ...

come and go this year before I decorate :( First off all you need gumption, that I left behind somewhere about 7 years ago, I am still looking for it though. Then I need to go to storage to get all those bins into the car and bring them home, lug them up then go through them. I think I would rather make Christmas cookies - haha

Thanksgiving ...

was great, was good to at least have some of my kids around for a holiday !!

I gave my bro-in-law his b-day present early, since my sister said he needs it now when it's cold - haha and he also got his b-day present early, a recliner so it will come in handy for sure on those evenings of relaxing...

TWILIGHT The Movie

Was great. My daughter and I went to it yesterday. Can't wait to see it again, and I am not a movie goer.

Back home again ...

for a short while, she has another doc appt next Wed, so we will probably head back on Tues. Stay for Thanksgiving, Hali, Toby and kids are coming too, yay I am so excited !!

WASHOUGAL GALS

Back in 1983 when we moved to Washougal, the church ward there was one of a kind. We all became so close, real sisters !! I fanagled a dinner since Laurie, one of 'us' was going to be back in town for a week, she has been in Atlanta since HP cut and shipped her out. And I surprised them all with my sister-in-law Char, who is from the farthest most southeasterly SPOT in Idaho one can get, who is also one of 'us'. We had a wonderful dinner at the BEST Chinese Restr in WA. The Chinese Garden in Camas, WA.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US :)

Went to Long Beach, had a great time and the weather was good :) chilly but sunny. Bruce made an apple cake and it was yummy. Also we fed the deer apples every day except for today- they never showed up AND in the morning we heard two close up gun shots, Grandpa said it was a shot gun :( hopefully no one shot them.

Quilting Again !!

I haven't been doing much quilting latetly, just haven't felt like it. But I decided to get busy with this next year's Picnic Quilt. So I got to a point where as a group we needed to make some decisions, so I opened up a package I'd received a few months ago from Connecting Threads. It is a table runner, I saw the pic and just had to HAVE it !! I did some quitling on the brown floral parts but you can't see it (thank heavens-as I am still learning that part and need much practice).

COMPUTERS !!!!!!!!!

Well we have another computer on the way. Ours decided to crash. I am going to blame it on a gal from church, she must of given us a virus the other night at a bible study !! HAHA She talked about how hers had crashed, and the next day WHAM !! Something got to our motherboard, so I think computer virus' can be transmitted through humans !!

FALL - I think it's here !!!

Well it is here - I can see the beautiful Fall colors beginning to show up on the trees. I used to love Fall because of football and only because of football. My sons played and that was a very good time in my life, I loved watching them play. Otherwise before that it meant the dreaded WINTER is coming. I don't mind snow. It's those grey, wet, dreary, depressing days that I dislike.

Hali TAGGED me so I am supposed to come up with 6 quirks about myself...then tag six others to do the same ...
1. Flossing or toothpicking my teeth. I do it all the time, I can't stand things in my teeth. I have floss and/ or toothpicks in the car, by the computer, bathroom, kitchen, purse, bedstand, ahhhhhhhh what's the matter with me. I don't use floss as much now as I do those plastic brush toothpicks in the little containers.

2. I eat my cereal dry. Always dry no milk.

3. And I cannot go out without my makeup on. Not that it changes the way I look much, but it is just something I cannot go out without.

4. I am told I flip my hair when I talk, like my daughter Derrah does.

5. Oh the snail mail - I have to get the mail, my day isn't complete until I have gotten the mail. Never much good in it but I just have to get it.

6. I was reminded that I doodle when I talk on the phone, I can use several pieces of paper doodling away.

AND Hali can come get all the dust she wants from my house !!!

DANGEROUS CHOCOLATE CAKE-IN-A-MUG
1 coffee mug;4 Tbsp. cake flour (plain, not self-rising);4 Tbsp. sugar;2 Tbsp. cocoa;1 egg;3 Tbsp. milk;3 Tbsp. oil;Small splash of vanilla;3 Tbsp. chocolate chips, optional.
Add dry ingredients to mug, mix well with a fork.Add egg, mix thoroughly.Pour in milk and oil and vanilla, mix well.Add chips, if using.Put mug in microwave, and cook for three minutes on 1000 watts.Cake will rise over top of mug--do not be alarmed!Allow to cool a little; tip onto a plate if desired.Eat!
(This can serve two if you want to feel slightly more virtuous.***And WHY is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?Because now we are all only five minutes away from chocolate cake any time of the day or night!!!***

WEEKEND TRAVELS

I will be going to Tooele, Utah on Sat the 13th to visit family. I will be back home on Tues. Bruce will be working up around Blaine, WA This is for tomorrow when the Seahawks play !!

This sign is in Wilbur, WA. Bruce took me here and proposed to me. His friend from work stopped and took the picture a couple days ago... yeah it is still there !!!

Bev & Scott renewing vows ceremony ...

We were off to California, Bev and Scott for their 20th Anniversary, renewed their wedding vows, it was a very touching ceremony and the Pastor helped make it so with his words. The reception was held at the Elks Lodge and there was a good turn out of 80 or more. Then it moved to their house where the party continued.

Longbeach, WA August 2008

Was fairly nice, fog rolled in everyday in the afternoon, Grandpa (Dad) and Bruce took their walks in the morning.

OUT OF TOWN AGAIN :)

We are heading off to Longbeach tomorrow. Gramma and Grandpa (mom and dad) got the beach house for a week, but we are only going from Fri to Sun. Bruce has to be in Seattle on Monday :( but then we have to head to CA on Wed for Bev and Scotts revow ceremony. Debby and Tim are showing up on Sat. Will put some pics on of the beach trip when we get back. It will be nice.

Long Lake Lacey, WA

We went out to Long Lake in Lacey, WA today. Aunt Dot's daughters from Illinois and N.Carolina came to visit, so the cousins got together. Also it was Rick's b-day last month so we celebrated it too - it rained so we didn't stay too long, too many people in the small house. But we had good eats, and visiting. Derrah, Marissa and Caleb came too.

Jaymz' Baptism

Sat Aug 2nd we went to Idaho so we could go to Jaymz' baptism. We are so proud of him for choosing to go down this path. He is a great kid and we love him very much !!

Nevada Trip

We are heading out to Nevada tomorrow. We will be staying with Bruce's aunt and uncle in Dayton. We will be home on Saturday with lots of money -(crossing my fingers). And of course we will have to stop at Baldini's - one of our favorite places.
